Join us for:
- A student-centred discussion with Journalists for Human Rights and Carleton alumni on navigating Canadian newsrooms as journalists who are Black, Indigenous or people of colour
- The first look at a new guidebook for entering the industry
The interactive workshop will feature lead participants and facilitators:
- Raisa Patel (she/her), national political reporter at Toronto Star and Carleton alumni
- Tobin Ng (they/them), editorial fellow at The Walrus and Carleton alumni
- Nana aba Duncan (she/her), Carleton professor, Carty Chair of Journalism, Diversity and Inclusion Studies and former CBC Radio producer and host
- Adrian Harewood (he/him), Carleton professor, board member, Journalists for Human Rights and former CBC TV anchor and radio host
- Hode Ossoble (she/her), program manager, Journalists for Human Rights
- Anita Li (she/her), executive consultant, Journalists for Human Rights' Enhanced Access to Opportunity for BIPOC Youth in Canadian Media program and editor-in-chief of The Green Line
