***THIS TRAINING IS FOR INVESTIGATORS***

Who should attend:

Law Enforcement, Fraud Investigators, Cyber Investigators, Other Govt and Students. 

Ai6 will be hosting the National Cyber-Forensics & Training Alliance (www.NCFTA.net) for a 3 day training session on investigating the Dark Web and Crypto currencies.  This is the Level 1 course.  (NOTE:  This is the same course as we hosted in October 2018 - There is a level 2 course scheduled for the following week.  Pls click here)

  • Find and navigate the 'dark web' forums/marketplaces using the TOR network
  • Conduct online research to identify threats to your organization
  • Create a target profile report through the use of various research techniques/tools
  • Learn fundamentals in interacting online through NCFTA-guided hands-on exercises
  • Create and maintain research accounts, employ encryption techniques in order to communicate online
  • Limit your footprint while conducting research.  Understanding VPN, VM and info bleeds while using such enviroments
  • Understand how to create a bitcoin wallet, purchase bitcoins/other crypto currencies, and make purchases using crypto currencies
  • Find and track the crypto $$
  • Develop intelligence reporting based on information gathered

Instructor Bios

Kyle Hettinger 
 
“Kyle Hettinger is a Team Lead within the Brand and Consumer Protection Program at the National Cyber-Forensics & Training Alliance (NCFTA) located in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. Kyle has worked closely with a number of Canadian public and private sector entities to identify, mitigate, and neutralize open source and dark web cyber threats targeting numerous sectors across Canada, including financial, critical infrastructure, pharmaceuticals, and retail. The results of this collaborative effort between the NCFTA and Canadian entities have resulted in enhanced relationships between American and Canadian private and public sectors through real-time information sharing, as well as the prosecution of major cyber threat actors targeting American and Canadian private and public sector entities.” 
 
Sean Williams
 
"Sean Williams is an Intelligence Analyst within the Malware and Cyber Threats Program at the National Cyber-Forensics & Training Alliance (NCFTA) located in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. Sean does dark web research and analysis on illicit markets and forums. He received a graduate degree in Security and Intelligence Studies from the University of Pittsburgh's Graduate School of Public and International Affairs." 
 
Stephanie Walker
 
Stephanie Walker is an intelligence analyst at the National Cyber-Forensics and Training Alliance. She works frequently with dark web markets and forums.  In addition, she is also an instructor for the Dark Web Analysis course offered by the NCFTA and an adjunct professor at Carlow University for the joint NCFTA/Carlow certificate program. Prior to joining the NCFTA, Stephanie received her master's degree in Security and Intelligence Studies from the University of Pittsburgh and her bachelor's  degree in International Studies from Allegheny College.”
