What can I expect?

Charles Ogar (a.k.a., Mr. Neokiz) is an internationally recognized Kizomba instructor with a unique ability to break down UrbanKiz concepts and fundamentals. You will not want to miss this opportunity to learn from a pro of this caliber, so get your passes early to save.

Samantha Fast is a seasoned competitor and experienced social dancer who both leads and follows. She has travelled around the world and has trained with some of the best in the business for UrbanKiz, bringing a wealth of knowledge to her students. A well rounded dancer, she is patient and focused on creating a fun learning environment. We are very lucky to have her as a co-instructor!

The workshop content from Saturday will be progressive into the content covered on Sunday.

How much does it cost?

Pass pricing is based on tiers with a limited number of tickets in each tier. Buy early to save and even more if you buy a combo lead/follow pass with your friend or partner.

Full pass prices include: Saturday and Sunday workshops + Saturday and Sunday daytime socials + Friday, Saturday, and Sunday night socials.

The evening socials include two rooms, Kizomba/Zouk and Salsa/Bachata.

What should I wear?

Please ensure you bring clean indoor shoes to ensure we do not damage the studio's beautiful hardwood floor.

We recommend wearing comfortable flats with a non-sticky sole that you can dance in for multiple hours (Toms, Fuego sneakers and Taygra dance sneakers are all great options).

Workout outfits are typically what people wear to these types of events, but other outfits may be appropriate as long as they are comfortable enough to dance in (not too tight, not too short, not too warm, allows you to move your arms, hips, torso, and rest of the body easily, not a tripping hazard, etc.).

What should I bring for food?

Light snacks and drinks will be provided, but definitely bring whatever you may like to consume during the breaks. Let us know in advance if you have any allergies.

The venue has a cafe on site that is open from 10 am to 8 pm. For more information on their menu, see: https://www.dirtbagcafe.ca

Do I need to bring a partner?

We will rotate partners throughout the dance class, so you do not need to register with a partner.

If you do come with a partner, you have the option not to rotate, though we highly recommend that you do to fully take advantage of the social aspect of the event as well as to enhance your learning experience during the workshop and parctica components.
