Event Details

This session is open to University of Alberta Engineering Students & Alumni ONLY.

Organized by: The Electrical and Computer Engineering Graduate Student Association (ECEGSA)

Target Audience: University of Alberta Faculty of Engineering MSc and PhD Students

Topic: Over 70% of all positions are found via an individual's network. As such, it's critical to design, build and maintain a professional network before you need it. This workshop will cover key networking tips, and identify how you can use LinkedIn to explore your career options, conduct an effective job search, and build a personal brand that helps ease your transition from grad school to career.

Presenter: Prior to joining the EEC in 2009, Stacey Sayler spent 15 years combined in human resources and management consulting with two local firms and one of the largest chartered accountancy and business advisory service firms in Canada. With the exception of her current role, every position she's had was a direct result of her network. She holds a Bachelor of Arts degree from the University of Alberta, and is passionate about helping students launch their engineering careers.

Coffee provided.

Registration is required to attend this session.
