ARCHITEK PERCUSSION PRESENTS THEIR POPULAR MELODICA PROGRAM

The BCA is thrilled to present Architek in their amazing percussion event!

ARCHITEK PERCUSSION is a Montreal-based quartet specializing in the performance of experimental, minimalist, multi-disciplinary, crossover, and electroacoustic chamber music. Founded in early 2012, the quartet has quickly established itself as a dynamic force in Canada’s vibrant new music community; equally comfortable in performing classic repertoire and exploring new terrain through commissions and premieres.

Melodica: This diverse program for mallet instruments draws its inspiration from video game music, mass transportation, flamenco music, electronica, the Russian choral tradition, and middle eastern music. Featuring repertoire from three continents, this program showcases subtle nuance not commonly associated with percussion playing, and highlights Architek’s skill as arrangers and composers in their own right. Includes works by Eliot BRITTON, Aurel HOLLO, Christos HATZIS, Ben DUINKER, Nico MUHLY, and John PSATHAS.

Don't miss it!

Opening Act: Matthew O'Halloran

Matthew is a 16-year-old pianist from Brockville, Ontario. He has been playing since he was five years old and takes lessons in jazz piano, classical piano, and church organ. His influences include Oscar Peterson, Miles Davis, and Stevie Wonder.

Additional ticket information: Adult tickets ($30) are available via eventbrite.ca, All You Need Music (555 California Ave #3a, Brockville, ON K6V 5Y6), and at the door. Student 18+ tickets ($10) and Under 18 tickets (Free) are available at All You Need Music and at the door.
