Event description

Description

New Dundee Optibotics Club is happy to announce another season! Optibotics is a non-profit club sponsored by the Optimist Club of New Dundee, with the mandate to promote science, technology and engineering while building character and having FUN.

Optibotics students are enrolled in a twelve-week curriculum-tied program laid out by Jr FIRST Lego League: https://www.firstinspires.org/node/3661 This year's theme is called Aqua Adventure. "In the AQUA ADVENTURES Challenge, more than 40,000 children around the world will navigate the uncharted waters of this important resource. Find out where the water you use in your daily life comes from, and what happens on its way to you. Where will this current voyage carry you?"

We welcome students, aged 6 to 9 come Sept. 1st, to register here starting July 1st at 7:00am. Spots will be offered on a first-come-first-serve basis according to time-stamp from 7:00am July 1st onwards. Enrollment is limited with preference to returning families and families who volunteer their time as Mentors. Cost is $50 per student, which is payable by the first day of class in November, to the administrator. Optibotics runs Sundays from November to February, 1:00 – 2:30pm at the New Dundee Community Center. Students will showcase their research and creations at an Expo in March. Students will participate in community outreach initiatives, and attend one or more field trips related to the challenge theme.
