Event description
Black and white photographs by Simeon Posen. The exhibit is evolving, with new additions by curator deborah harris.

About this event

Simeon Posen is an established photographer constantly searching for new ways to interpret the natural and human-made world. He describes the camera as a fascinated, motionless observer, though recently, the artist has challenged this assumption and experimented with the “camera in motion.” The images that have come from this process are surprising and mysterious. The subjects of his inquiry are found in the natural world: landscapes, water, trees, and built forms.

In a previous iteration of this exhibition, titled "Quilted Landscape", curator deborah harris brought together hundreds of images of Posen’s photos to create what appears to be a large quilt, which can still be seen in a separate gallery. The original show included cloth quilts by Sae Kimura.

"Quilted Landscape" was an official Scotiabank CONTACT Photography Festival exhibit.
