Event description
Understanding FASD is an evidence-based three-hour virtual training that is hosted and delivered by the FASD Network of Saskatchewan.

About this event

FASD is a disability that is always changing and we're continuously learning more all the time. We invite you to register for our in-depth virtual training that will provide the most up-to date information on FASD.

During the training, we will explore the primary disabilities associated with Fetal Alcohol Spectrum Disorder (FASD) and how they may relate to an individual’s behaviours and actions. The training will also cover secondary challenges related to FASD. Understanding FASD is evidence-based and relies on first-hand experiences of those impacted by FASD.

The training focuses on real-life examples from personal experiences of those in the field. Attendees will benefit from practical strategies and a resource they can use when supporting an individual with FASD. Attendees will learn about stigma, impacts of language and stereotypes, as well as some of the challenges and strengths of those impacted by FASD.

Attendees will also learn how they can refer people to the FASD Network, what services are offered, and how agencies can work together to provide optimum support.

A certificate will be received upon completion of the training.

You will receive a Zoom link for the training session the day before your scheduled session. If you do not receive the zoom link, please contact training@fasdnetwork.ca or call 1-866-673-3276.
