Description

Now more than ever...newspapers matter.

The in-depth, credible, independent reporting done by newspapers is more important than ever, but newspapers are facing a number of serious threats. The North Shore News, along with newspapers across Canada, will be challenging our readers to go online and sign a national petition. We want to send a message - to Canadian businesses, advertisers, to all levels of government, to newspaper journalists and to their fellow citizens - that newspapers matter. Now more than ever.

To celebrate NATIONAL NEWSPAPER WEEK OCTOBER 1-7, 2018, we invite you and a guest to attend a screening of Spotlight at the Bosa Centre for Film & Animation at Capilano University. Spotlight won two Oscars, including Best Motion Picture of the Year, and several actors were Oscar nominees, including Mark Ruffalo and Rachel McAdams. Click HERE to watch the trailer.

North Shore News Publisher Peter Kvarnstrom will give a short welcome address before the screening, and afterwards, we invite guests to continue the conversation in the lobby and sign the online petition.

We look forward to hosting you and a guest at this special North Shore News event.
