Event description
Join CityHive and Apathy is Boring for an evening to celebrate your democratic participation after voting and meet other young folks!

About this Event

There’s been lots of media coverage this election cycle about how Millennials (considered those born between 1980-2000, according to Abacus Data) are now the largest and potentially most powerful voting bloc. We’ve seen recent examples of mass mobilization on Indigenous justice and climate change led by young folks. On October 21st, we’ll see just how impactful the youth vote was—and get to work on co-creating better communities and cities over the next 4 years, regardless of outcome.

Join CityHive and Apathy is Boring for an evening to celebrate your democratic participation after voting, meet other young folks who care about shaping their country, and watch the election results together. Throughout the evening, there will be opportunities for you to reflect on how our democracy is/isn’t working for you, and to casually network with others who may want to build initiatives to better engage young folks in politics/climate work/arts/the economy/decolonization/and so on.

Where: Upstairs room at Brew Hall, 97 E 2nd Ave (stair and elevator access)

When: 7-11pm

There will be canapes, a private bar to order your favourite non-alcoholic or alcoholic drink, Engaged Citizen door prizes, music, and a live screening of election results.

*This event is open to minors, and is sober-friendly.*
