Description

We are holding an event as part of our community health project targeted at raising awareness and ending the stigma within the healthcare system around sex trade workers. This is open to Brock Nursing and Med-Plus students and faculty. The event will include:


- Guest speaker Deb Nanson, founder of STARS drop-in centre for sex trade workers with addicitons

- Real-life stories and experiences of women currently in the sex trade in Niagara

- Disscussion of strategies for healthcare advancements in serving this population

- Raffle

- Free snacks!


This event will count for SELF DIRECTED LEARNING hours and POLITICAL ACTION in your final evaluations! We would love to have you join this important discussion!


Admission upon arrival will be a small money donation, feminine hygiene products, or winter clothing items. All the proceeds and donations will go towards the women at the STARS drop-in!
