Event description

Description

Presenter: Dr. Peter Donahue, Director of the School of Social Work at King’s University College. Peter’s work has focused on older adults and their families, particularly around issues relating to retirement, caregiving, diversity, and homelessness.

Topic: Improving Care for Older Adults Through Knowledge Mobilization: NICE!

Using evidence-based knowledge to improve the care for older adults is not a new concept, but is something that is rarely done. Ten years ago a group of researchers, practitioners, and seniors came together to change this through the development of the National Initiative for the Care of the Elderly (NICE). This presentation will review the knowledge mobilization process used by NICE, the practical, evidence-based tools the network has developed, and its current evaluation project underway.
