Event description

Description

How do we turn your significant skills into a career outside academia?

Graduate students and postdoctoral fellows are encouraged to keep their career options open, especially in today's uncertain career climate, but the non-academic job search can seem daunting, especially for high-performing students who have been primed for academic paths.

In this inspiring and eye-opening seminar Dr. Krook will review her own path through and out of academics. Grad students and postdocs can expect to learn how to:

  • prepare yourself for the non-academic job market at the same time as doing your graduate work
  • understand the process and mechanics of entering the non-academic job market
  • identify and define your particular skill sets

Dr. Krook is a highly acclaimed academic transition coach who began her professional career as an assistant professor in the US and has since moved into various professional and entrepreneurial roles.
