Description
During the month of February, NorQuest College will be celebrating Black History Month with a special marketplace event to celebrate our community partnerships, artists, musical performances, local entrepreneurs, NorQuest engagement, and student research projects. Our overarching theme is ‘ALLYSHIP: All in this together’. We are exploring the concept of allyship, both what it means to be an effective ally and what allyship is not, as well as defining what allyship means in a personal and professional context.
As a valued community member, we are requesting your organization to become involved and sponsor a booth to promote your organization and services. Our mission is to increase awareness of Black-run and Black-owned businesses, entrepreneurs, and non-profits in Edmonton and have you engage with students, staff, and faculty members. NorQuest College is home to approximately 18,000 learners, approximately 3000 of which make up the foot traffic that will move through the Singhmar during that time period. Additionally, social media promotion of this event will begin in January and this can include dedicated spots for your organization. The College’s Facebook page reaches over 12,300 people, 4,350 followers on Twitter, and LinkedIn over 8000. We are proud to raise awareness of your organization and your contributions to the community.
FAQs
What are my transportation/parking options for getting to and from the event?
There will be parking available for vendors. Details on how to access that will be sent via email in February.
How can I contact the organizer with any questions?
Email nginawa.kaai@norquest.ca with questions or concerns.
Do I have to bring my printed ticket to the event?
You do not!
Is it ok if the name on my ticket or registration doesn't match the person who attends?
Yes! It may be better to put your organization's name rather than an individual person.
What does the $100 go towards?
The table fee is being used to fund a co-curricular art project with NorQuest College students and artists from the Ribbon Rouge Foundation's artist collective. They will be spending the month of February exploring the concept of allyship through art.
Can I sell things during the event?
Of course! We do not want you to miss out on potential business opportunities.
