Nowhere To Call Home: Portraits

You are invited to experience the stunning work of award-winning photographer and author Leah den Bok.

Selected for exhibition in the Rotunda Gallery for the month of March 2020, the exhibit features a collection of Leah's portraits on canvas and framed prints..

Leah will speak about her work photographing those experiencing homelessness across the globe. The stories she shares are both heart-breaking and uplifting.

After her presentation, Leah will answer audience questions and she will be available for book signings.

NOWHERE TO CALL HOME - Photographs and stories of people experiencing homelessness - Volumes One and Two will be available for purchase at the event.

Proceeds from books and art sold at the event will be donated to local organizations helping people experiencing homelessness, including the YW of Kitchener-Waterloo and oneROOF Youth Services.

Where in City Hall is the Rotunda Gallery?

The Rotunda Gallery is on the ground floor of Kitchener City Hall.

What are my transportation/parking options for getting to and from the event?

LRT: Get off at Kitchener City Hall Station

Bus: These routes have stops nearby: 1, 204, 7, 8

Parking: Parking is available on King Street as well as public lots nearby. Many side streets also have free parking after 6pm.

Do I have to bring my printed ticket to the event?

No. We will have a list of registered names, save the paper and just show up!

Do I have to spend any money to attend, or at the event?

No. This event is free, and your attendance is a gift to us. Please come hear Leah speak, meet her and the other attendees, enjoy a refreshment and experience the beauty of her work.

How should I dress?

Come as you wish. We don't actually care what is on your body, we care what is in your heart.

Is Leah's art available for purchase?

Yes. Please contact Leah's publicist Kevin Hiebert to purchase a canvas print or framed portrait.

What about Leah's books?

Leah's books will be available for purchase at the event. Leah will be happy to sign it for you. If you already have a copy of her book, you can bring it and she will sign it.
