About this event
To pursue an aggressive interior attack, a firefighter must be able to read the environment using benchmarks and quantifiable knowledge to determine the best course of action. Within the fire service, suppression provides the backbone for job success. Suppression is the product of several factors; most important are fire behavior and the use of hose in the context of the fire. The focus is on understanding the capacity of our tools, competency, and understanding our environment. This class teaches the skills, the skill sets, the context of skill application, and a methodology with regard to fire attack and handline management.
The program is based around a skill acquisition models for pyschomotor skills. The program correlates the environment with the tactical options based around an algorithmic model.
Participants will be required to:
- provide their own turnout gear;
- make arrangements for their accommodations;
- meals will not be provided. Participants are expected to bring a lunch each day.
Day 1 - training will be held in Rocky Mountain House, AB at Station 60.
Day 2 - training will be held at the training facility in Leslieville, AB at Station 10.
