Description

NUVO Network is thrilled to launch a new initiative, NUVO Talks.

NUVO Talks are interactive experiences that connect ideas with action. Through immersive engagements with local practitioners, alongside panel discussions in which thought leaders outline emergent trends, NUVO Talks provides opportunities for the community to encounter innovative and creative solutions.

The inaugural NUVO Talks events will be in May and June.

On May 22, 2019, we are kicking off with a Town Hall What Does Technology Mean For Democracy, hosted by The Honourable Karina Gould - Member of Parliament for Burlington, and federal Minister of Democratic Institutions.

The Town Hall will include a panel discussion on the role of government, net neutrality, and regulatory impact on business in the digital age.

The panel will include:

  • Stephanie MacLellan, Senior Research Associate at the Centre for International Governance Innovation (CIGI), is a specialist in digital policy and cybersecurity. She spent more than a decade working as an editor and reporter for newspapers such as the Toronto Star, The Hamilton Spectator and The Slovak Spectator, an English-language weekly based in Bratislava, Slovakia.

  • Aaron Shull, Managing Director and General Counsel at the Centre for International Governance Innovation: an independent, non-partisan think tank with an objective and uniquely global perspective. A member of CIGI’s executive team, Aaron provides guidance and advice on matters of strategic and operational importance, while working closely with partners and other institutions to further CIGI’s mission. He also serves as corporate secretary.
