Introduction to Leadership

May 29, 2018 from 9:00 a.m. to 5:00p.m.

Entrepreneur's Toolkit Workshops are experiential, hands-on workshops facilitated by experienced entrepreneurs. The workshops offer ventures tools, mentoring and peer feedback to solve specific problems and develop essential business components.

In each four-hour session you will generate a deliverable that you will use frequently in the business development process.

Are you leading a start-up venture for the first time?

Do you know what your approach to leadership is? What is the "entrepreneurial roller coaster" and how will you lead people through the ride? Whether you are leading 1 person or many in your venture, it's important to understand your personal leadership behaviours and how to use them in order to move your team, and your venture forward.

Participant profile:

Introduction to Leadership is for entrepreneurs who are first time leaders . They might have lead teams in the past but want to become aware of different leadership styles and approaches, so they can more effectively lead their teams.

Key Deliverables:

You will learn the top leadership skills that help make entrepreneurs successful and become aware of the different leadership behaviours that will affect your team. You will also use these insights to create interview questions for perspective partners as you build your leadership team.

Workshop topics include:

  • The difference between a Manager and a Leader
  • The key leadership skill set
  • The different leadership styles and when to apply them
  • What to consider when creating a Leadership Team
  • Insights into the personal journey of an entrepreneurial Leader

Benefits to you:

Self awareness is an important trait for all leaders. This workshop will help you become more aware of how you employ your natural leadership style. It will help you become more aware of your personal interactions with your team, and inevitably help you deal with a variety of entrepreneurial challenges more effectively.
