Oak Woodland Planting - Restoration Volunteer Day
Sat, 6 May 2017, 10:00 AM – 12:00 PM EDT
Join Conservation Halton staff for a morning at Glenorchy Conservation Area to assist in hands-on activities to restore an Oak Woodland.
Volunteers will gain experience in the planting of native species Bur Oak and White Oak. If we finish up early we will take a tour of Glenorchy Conservation Area which is not yet open to the public.
What to bring: practical clothing for being outdoors all morning, water bottle, snacks for yourself, shoes suitable for using a shovel (no sandals), work gloves if you have them (some will be provided), hat, sunglasses, and enthusiasm!
The event will go rain or shine. Please dress appropriately (you will get dirty!).
Registration is required. Please arrive on time as we start at 10am!
We will be meeting at Palermo Park parking lot and then making our way into Glenorchy Conservation Area from there together. Further instructions will be e-mailed to registered participants.
