Description

OBEC is hosting a workshop on Habitat. Come learn what you can do to help protect the habitat in your neighbourhood and help improve it for animals and the environment. Our list of expert speakers will also be able to answer you questions on this important topic which is often over looked in the city.

Our key note speaker is Dr. Nick Stow who is a Senior Planner in the Natual Systems and Environmental Protection Unit at the city of Ottawa.

We also welcome Jennifer Lamoureux an Aquatic and Fish Habitat Biologist who will be speaking on Habitate Restoration in the Rideau Valley Watershed.

Along with Donna DuBreuil, President and Founder of the Ottawa-Carleton Wildlife Centre who will be speaking on Working with the Community in Protecting Big and Small Spaces for Wildlife.

Followed by Bryarly McEachern, Executive Director and Naturalist at Earth Path who will be speaking about plant biodiversity and its effect on habitat.

Finally Dr. Henri Goulet, Research Scientist (Entomology) at Agriculture and Agri-Food Canada will be speaking about the Impact of Herbicide on the Decline of Insects which in turn affects habitat.

This is a pay what you can event and we will ask for your donations at the workshop.

Hope to see you there.
