As a former high school student of YRDSB, Jacob Gal took an active role in advocating for LGBQT+ students and his community.Come hear Jacob share how young people can get actively involved in volunteer and social opportunities, such as youth groups, pride celebrations and events within York Region. Jacob also advocates for safe spaces for all youth to help develop social skills while, in the process, breaking various barriers and promoting equity, well-being and acceptance of diversity.

Jennifer Tyrell is a lawyer and a proudly out lesbian. She is currently the Canadian law expert for a multi-national software firm, and was formerly a criminal defense lawyer, practicing in and around the GTA, and representing many LGBTQ clients. While at university, she worked as a volunteer and outreach coordinator for the University of Toronto Sexual Education and Peer Counselling Centre, supporting LGBTQ students and conducting student training on related issues.  Jennifer lives in North York with her fiancée, three cats, and a goldfish.

Dr. Chelsea Derry has been a member of the Board of Directors for PFLAG Canada York Region since 2012, where she has found it very rewarding to give back to the local LGBTQ community. For many years Chelsea ran a family medical practice in Richmond Hill with a special interest in LGBTQ health, but more recently she has given up seeing patients in her private practice in order to focus on her work in the laboratory at Southlake Regional Health Centre. In her spare time Chelsea enjoys reading, yoga classes, and spending time with her partner and their animals.

Lisa Feldstein is a health lawyer in Markham with a focus on Family Health Law™. Her practice includes surrogacy, guardianship, privacy, elder law and mental health law. She is an Adjunct Professor at York University , where she teaches Health Care Law.
