Event description
Everyday Resiliency in Times of Uncertainty: How to Protect Your Core

About this event

In our daily lives, times of unparalleled stress, unrest, and uncertainty are becoming more common and are lasting longer than expected. As caregivers, our physical, emotional, and mental health are being heavily tested and taxed every day. Everyday Resilience is one way to support the caregiver as they support others, making the hard parts of caregiving more doable. Building resilience helps caregivers sustain their health and capacity to care, both for themselves and others. In this webinar, we will learn about the five core traits for resiliency and stress systems management. We will explore behaviour change as a means of building and maintaining stronger work-life balance. Dr. Robyne will help us understand why common knowledge does not equal common practice. She will unpack why we struggle with change and how to fix this cycle. The information presented in this event is researched informed, readily available, and is grounded in wise practices

Organizer OCO/OSANO

Organizer of OCO Webinar - Caregiver Resilience

If you support someone in need and feel anxious and overwhelmed with your caregiving responsibilities, you’re not alone. The Ontario Caregiver Organization (OCO) exists to support Ontario’s 3.3 million caregivers; ordinary people who provide physical and emotional support to a family member, partner, friend or neighbour. We support caregivers by being their one point of access to information, so they have what they need to be successful in their role.

Working collectively with caregivers, healthcare providers and other organizations, OCO draws on the variety of work that is currently being done to ease caregiver burn-out and improve the caregiving experience. We find ways to make existing services more broadly available so all caregivers, regardless of age, disease, diagnosis or location can access support. Where there are gaps, we work with caregivers and like-minded partners to find new and creative ways to fill them.
