Description

To celebrate our annual general meeting, the Organic Council of Ontario invites both OCO members and the general public to come and participate in a day of discovery.

The whole day is open to the public, but we especially encourage you to invite your organic minded friends and guests to attend the local, organic feast taking place from 5:30pm-8:30pm.

Local, Organic Feast

Join us for a series of seasonal tast sensations, featuring local chefs and food businesses!

Tastings will feature items from:

10:50am - Panel: How to Grow Ontario Organic

Drawing from over 550 surveys and interviews from across Ontario's agri-food sector, consultant Carolyn Young provides insight on what we need to grow the Ontario organic sector by 5% in 5 years. A panel of Working Group members will participate in helping illustrate the need for greater capacity and supports.

3:15 pm - Panel: An Ontario Organic Regulation: Strategy, Challenges and Making it Work for Everyone

We are getting closer to the possibility of regulating the word "organic" in the province of Ontario. However, we know that a regulation alone won't solve all of the barriers facing organic businesses. So how can an Ontario organic regulation work for everyone? Join panelists from across the organic value chain to discuss.

4:30 pm - Wrap Up and Local, Organic Food Walking Tour & Tasting in Partnership with Taste Real Wellington

5:30-8:30 pm - Local, Organic Feast

Join Organic Council and Taste Real Wellington members, local chefs, retailers and farmers to start the season off right. Sample a cornucopia of local, organic foods and beverages while networking with other businesses and the public. Each participant will be given sampling tickets to "spend" at each station.


FAQs

Are there ID or minimum age requirements to enter the event?

No requirements, but any participants under 19 must be accompanied by an adult.

What are my transportation/parking options for getting to and from the event?

Please go to organiccouncil.ca/agm/parking to see details on parking and location. There is limited visitor parking during the day at Innovation Guelph (up to 30 spots on a first come first serve basis), but additional office parking is available after 5pm for the feast. Otherwise, paid parking is also available on surrounding streets, in the West Parkade of Old Quebec St. Mall (off Macdonell St.) and in the Wilson Street parking lot. Innovation Guelph is also located a short walking distance from Guelph Central Station.


What's the refund policy?

Unfortunately, we are unable to offer refunds for your ticket.

Do I have to bring my printed ticket to the event?

You do not need to bring your printed ticket. We will have your name on our registration list.

Is my registration fee or ticket transferrable?

Yes, you may transfer your ticket. In the case of transfer, please show a paper ticket.

Is it ok if the name on my ticket or registration doesn't match the person who attends?

Yes, but they must show a paper ticket in this case.
