February 2, 2018

John Korsrud (trumpet) and Friends - Introduced by Deirdre Morgan

Presenting a high-energy latin-jazz quartet featuring VCC graduate Niho Takase on piano, VCC faculty member Laurence Mollerup on bass, and one of Canada's top latin-jazz drummers, Raphael Geronimo.

March 2, 2018

Dorothea Hayley, soprano; Catherine Wood, clarinet; Manuel Laufer, piano - Introduced by Gerald van Wyck

Nature, solitude, and contemplation are the focus of this recital. From the burnished lake of Argento’s To Be Sung Upon the Water to the azure sky of Meyerbeer’s Hirtenlied, to the towering cliffs of Schubert’s beloved Shepherd on the Rock, the songs celebrate the freedom and inspiration of the natural world. Jeff Younger’s new piece, exploring the theme of erosion, evokes the fragile and transitory nature of our earth’s riches.

March 16, 2018

François Houle, clarinet; Joan Blackman, violin; Jane Hayes, piano - Introduced by David Duke

Trio extraordinaire, Sea and Sky, will present a selection of exciting works from their upcoming release of chamber music for clarinet, violin and piano, including new work by Montreal composer Michael Oesterle.

April 13, 2018
