A well-structured and systematic course for those who have never painted before, as well as for those who want to reinforce their basic skills in oils. Over the eight lessons students will receive instruction in tonal painting, colour theory and colour mixing, composition, brush handling, consistency of oil paint, preparation of surface and more. As we move through the weeks we will work toward our final goal of creating a series of self-portraits that implement tricks and techniques for a realistic looking image. It is an ideal course for beginners. With plenty of guidance from the instructor, the course aims to foster self-confidence and enjoyment of painting in a stimulating environment.
