Description

Discover the sumptuous quality of painting on Beeswax.

Learn how to create a ground with beeswax on linen or board. The class will provide you with the methods needed to interpret and translate three-dimensional form through oil painting. This class will be structured in a traditional method employing oil painting process.

There are three dates for this session: January 11, January 25 and February 8 from 12pm to 3pm.

We will explore, in depth, a specific technique and process of developing a relationship to light and space through oil paint. You will be introduced to the materials and techniques used in direct descriptive painting.

Students are responsible for their own materials and reference material.

This course will be taught by accomplished artist and teacher, Heather Gentleman. Heather Gentleman lives and works in Toronto, Canada and London, England. Her education includes a Masters of Fine Arts from Chelsea College of Art in London, UK, an Honours BA in Fine Arts at the University of Guelph as well as studying at the Ontario College of Art and Design (OCAD) and the University of London, UK. Her work has won several international arts awards and has been featured in several books, magazines, design annuals and media, in local, national and international media. It is also found in private and corporate collections in Canada, U.S., Asia, France and Great Britain. In addition to solo exhibits, she regularly participates in group shows.
