Description

Older adults may become vulnerable and live at risk because of cognitive, psychosocial,
frailty or external factors, such as living in an unsuitable environment. The situations are
rife with medical, ethical, legal, and social complexities. Recognition, evaluation, and
treatment of this population requires a multimodal, interdisciplinary approach, strong
assessment skills and creative problem solving.


At this workshop, the speakers will discuss:
• Assessing risk, what factors matter/when to act
• Legal considerations and role of the Office of the Public Guardian
• Decision making , ethical considerations
• Intervention tools
