Description

An effective board is critical to operating in today’s non-profit environment. A new board member requires three different layers of orientation:
1. The generic legal requirements of any board member of any Canadian nonprofit;
2. Training and education about the specific organization (its governance model, kind of board and expectations for its members);
3. The current situations the board and organization is dealing with (issues, trends, staff, economy, budget, etc). (Dr. Rebecca Sutherns, of Sage Solutions)
The better your organizations is at doing this, the more effective your board will be.

Learning Objectives:

1. A roadmap to effective on-boarding of new board members
2. Sample templates to customizable for your organization
3. A better sense of what is currently working and where the challenges or gaps are
