Event description

This 2 hour in-class workshop will cover the essential features to get you up and running with OneDrive, our Office 365 cloud storage service. With this service all faculty and staff have access to 1 Terabyte (1024 Giagbytes) of personal (shareable) cloud storage space. One of the distinct advantages of OneDrive over other cloud file services is it's integration with Microsoft Office programs such as Word, Excel, and PowerPoint as well as Trent's user directory for staff and faculty. Since OneDrive is a web based service it can be accessed anytime, anywhere you have a network connection. It also supports the ability for multiple people to collaborate on the same document at the same time.

Topics covered include:

  1. Cloud storage on Office 365

  2. Accessing OneDrive via myTrent

  3. Uploading files

  4. Renaming, deleting and downloading files

  5. Organizing files in folders

  6. Sharing files and folders

  7. Checking your OneDrive usage with Storage Metrics

  8. Creating and saving a Word document on OneDrive
