The Brain Injury Association of Windsor & Essex County is hosting its fifth brain injury conference:

ONF Clinical Practice Guideline for Moderate to Severe TBI: From Assessment to Treatment - A Practical Application Workshop

The Ontario Neurotrauma Foundation (ONF) recently released the Clinical Practice Guideline for the Rehabilitation of Adults with Moderate to Severe TBI, Ontario's most current Multidisciplinary Guideline for brain injury rehabilitation. The BIAWE, together with the ONF, are presenting a workshop that will focus on the purpose, function and use of these Guidelines.

Goals of workshop, to learn together:

  • The framework and tenets that make up the Clinical Practice Guidelines for Moderate to Severe TBI
  • How Moderate to Severe TBI is defined
  • Clinical standards for assessment and treatment across the rehabilitation continuum
  • Use of the Clinical Practice Guidelines to build personal and clinical best practice standards
  • How to rely on evidence based practice to strengthen treatment programming and plans of care

Who should attend:

  • Health care providers who work with the TBI population across the continuum (Nursing, PSW, OT, OTA, PT, PTA, SLP, SW, psychologists, CM, rehab/ workers, Physicians, CCAC, etc.)
  • Non-treatment professionals working with TBI survivors across the care continuum (lawyers, insurers, administrative assistants, educators, etc.)
