Online Chess club open to Ridgeview School members at discounted rate.

You are invited to explore the strategic world of chess at this exclusive chess club. This club includes fundamentals for beginners along with strategies for the more advanced players. Chess Club players will have the opportunity to improve their skills by playing against other player of various levels.

This class accepts beginners and experienced players alike from ages 6-11

Coaches: James Chan, Master level player 2200, and guest coaches will include BC champion Butch Villavieja, International Master Bindi Cheng, International Master Ray Kaufman

Location: ZOOM, online chess club- this online club will also have two of the best players in BC as guest coaches in Tuesdays, Saturdays and Sundays online zoom classes. Coach to kid ratio is 1 coach to 6 kids on average.

(It is recommended that students have a PC, large tablet, laptop for the online lessons)

Beginners Classes Ridgeview:

Mondays 3:45 to 4:45. 10 classes January 25th to March 29th $150with ex BC champion Butch and an expert chess coach Callum Ages 6+

Intermediate-Advanced Classes

Tuesdays Intermediate-Advanced classes 5:00 to 6:30 10 classes January 26th to March 30th $200(International Master will be coaching as well)Ages 7+

Wednesdays -Intermediate level(kids that already know checkmate) 5:00 to 6:30. 10 classes January 27th to March 31st $180 with ex BC champion Butch or James Ages 7+

Saturdays 5:00 to 6:30. Intermediate-Advanced 10 classes January 23rd to March 27th $200(International master will be coaching as well) Ages 7+

Sundays 2:40 to 4:10 Intermediate-Advanced ,10 classes January 24th to March 28th $200(International Master will be coaching as well) Ages 8+

Sundays 11:00 to 1:00 January 17th- March 28th

Advanced training- Kids that have represented BC in the provincial team or participate regularly in online tournaments can join this class. There are weekly home work assignments and this class is geared for kids that are more serious about long term improvement- there is no age restriction and as long as you are the one of the top kids in your grade you are welcome to join and test your skills against the masters and International Masters.

A chesskid.com premium account worth $70 a year will be included for each kid in the chess club
