About the speaker:

Michael Perz is the Manager of Food Safety and SQF Practitioner with Ippolito Fruit and Produce Ltd. He is actively involved with the day-to-day systems such as HACCP and SQF, micro testing and analysis, and customer complaints. His experiences with food safety have come from various food categories ranging from coffee, to baked goods and Ready-to-Eat salads. Michael has over 20 years of experience in the food industry, having worked with companies such as Timothy’s Coffees of the World, Keurig Canada and Gourmet Baker East. He has a B.Sc. in Microbiology from the University of Windsor and M.Sc. in Biology from McMaster University.

The Food Safety Culture working group is in association with AMI (Agri-food Management Institute). We help small and medium food businesses, particularly in Ontario, enhance their food safety performance through the lens of improving culture in the organization. Businesses seeking information can participate in our educational sessions. Currently we offer 30-minute webinars that cover one topic in a 10-minute presentation followed by a Q and A session.
