Description

Featuring Six World Premieres by Toronto Composers!

Ontario Resonance is a free student mentorship program created by Esprit Orchestra with support from the Government of Ontario to mark Ontario’s 150th anniversary. Esprit pairs professional composers with students in six schools across the GTA for mentorship in the composition of their own pieces of music with the theme of Ontario places, sounds, and cultural ties. Our mentoring composers are also commissioned by Esprit to compose a short piece under the same Ontario theme as their students, to be premiered at the finale concert on November 23 at Trinity St. Paul's Centre.

Programme:

Eugene Astapov - Conductor

Aline Morales - voice
Rebecca Gray - soprano

Eugene Astapov - Ephemeral Songs
Mark Duggan - Maracatu Imaginário
Adam Scime - Melopoeia
Bekah Simms - Remnant Shoreline
Christopher Thornborrow - Ghosts of Trees
Christina Volpini - to reach the other shore with each step of the crossing

Admission is free for the general public.
