What is it?
Open Data Day is a gathering of citizens in cities around the world to write applications, liberate data, create visualizations and publish analyses using open public data to show support for and encourage the adoption open data policies by the world's local, regional and national governments.
We hope to bring together developers, community activitists, non-profits, for-profits and others.
What will happen?
We will open up with a presentation from Andy Yan (see below) and then ask people to volunteer projects and ideas they would like to work on or workshops they would like to give. It will be very self-organized and focused on fun.
Andy Yan - local legend, BTA Works Executive Director and one of the most prolific users of the City's Open Data will kick us off with an overview of his work and inspire us about projects we could be working on.
