Open innovation: from the cloud to policy and beyond - Webinar
Event Information
Description
SiG is pleased to present international innovation thought leader, Charles Leadbeater and Canadian public policy entrepreneur and open data advocate, David Eaves in discussion for our Inspiring Action for Social Impact Series.
Open Innovation as a concept was written up as early as the 1960s but it has become almost pervasive in 2011 as the potential of the Internet is realized and design thinking has come to the fore. During this webinar Charles and David will discuss the impact of Open Innovation:
1. Who are the leaders?
2. What are they doing?
3. Where are the big opportunities today?
Later in the discussion they will focus more specifically on the impact of Open Data as it affects policy development and program delivery in government.
Charles Leadbeater is a leading authority on innovation and creativity. He has advised companies, cities and governments around the world on innovation strategy and drew on that experience in writing his book We-think: the power of mass creativity, which charts the rise of mass, participative approaches to innovation from science and open source software, to computer games and political campaigning.
Discussing open innovation with Charles is David Eaves, public policy entrepreneur, open government activist and negotiation expert. David is retained by several governments to advise on open government and open data, the two topics that will be covered during this webinar.
The discussion will be followed by a Q&A from the online audience.
