About this Event:

It is an all-day conference organized by OPEN, Organization of Pakistani Entrepreneurs of North America, Toronto Chapter. The event features keynote speeches, panel discussions and networking opportunities for entrepreneurs, professionals and business persons.

Meet OPEN members from the GTA and other chapters. Listen to keynotes from successful entrepreneurs, participate in panel discussions and network with participants. OPEN events are acclaimed for best in networking, inspiration and collaboration. Join us on October 21st at the centrally-located Holiday Inn hotel (near Pearson International Airport) for an amazing day of business and professional inspiration and development.

Mohammad Fakih | CEO and Founder Paramount Fine Foods

Mohamad Abdallah Fakih is a Lebanese-Canadian entrepreneur. He moved to Canada in 1999. In 2006, Fakih founded Paramount Fine Foods that now employs over 1,000workers and professionals at 36 locations across Canada. In 2015, Fakih partnered with Ryerson University for the lifeline Syrian challenge to settle Syrian refugees. He has hired over 50 Syrian refugees in Paramount Fine Foods locations.

Haseeb Awan | Entrepreneur & Angel Investor

Haseeb is involved in blockchain industry for last 5 years and co-founded a Bitcoin ATM company that now operates in 15 countries with over 6,000 retail locations. He holds a Masters degree in Engineering, PMP designation, Financial Markets from Yale University & Business & Financial Modeling from Wharton School of Business, University of Pennsylvania and a Y-Combinator graduate. Majid Kazmi | Author, Social Entrepreneur, Founder, Valu Ventures Inc.

Majid Kazmi is an author (www.thefirstdancer.com), social entrepreneur and banking professional based in Toronto. He is the Founder & CEO of Valu Ventures Inc., a unique social enterprise that helps immigrants start and grow their businesses in Canada. Majid serves on the boards of Toronto Workforce Innovation Group and H2O 4 ALL. He also co-chairs the CIBC International Professionals Network (IPN) and is an ambassador for United Way of Toronto & York Region (UWTY). Majid has featured on mainstream television and radio as an immigrant success story and an accomplished mentor. He is regarded as a leading authority on diversity and inclusion, and immigrant entrepreneurship in Canada. His blogs cover a wide range of topics from business and innovation to personal growth and career success. Majid holds an MBA from IBA Karachi.

Samina Talat | National Senior Director of Community Health, Canadian Red Cross.

Samina received a BA in Psychology and Education and a MSc. in Psychology in Pakistan, following which she worked in the acute and community health sectors across Pakistan. After immigrating to Canada in 1998, Samina worked and volunteered in community and social sectors and earned several academic achievements including a Masters of Health Sciences in Health Administration from the University of Toronto and 2 post Masters Programs from Rotman and Schulich Schools of Business Management. Samina established Aurat Health Services – a volunteer organization dedicated to empowering South Asian women through health and social resources and services. Samina is currently National Senior Director of Community Health at the Canadian Red Cross.

Sohail Rana | Acclaimed Music Composer

Sohail Rana is an award-winning Pakistani music composer. Mr. Rana composed many popular and memorable songs for films, children programs on Pakistan Television andclassics for recording companies. He also composed countless national songs that gained popularity in and outside Pakistan.

Mr. Rana received the prestigious Presidential Award Pride of Performance in 1981, Gold Discs from EMI in 1974 for the vinyl album, Khyber Mail. Pakistan Television (PTV) awarded him with national awards in 1982 and 1989 and a LifeTime Achievement award in 2007. He was also given the United Nations Peace Messenger Award, conferred on him, at the United Nations headquarters in New York in 1987. In 2012, he received Sitara-i-Imtiaz from the Government of Pakistan, the highest civilian award in the country. Mr. Rana lives in Toronto and is an honorary Charter member of OPEN Toronto

Hasan Naqvi | President, CM Inc.

Hasan Naqvi has over thirty years of experience in the business consulting and Information Technology and Communications (ITC) field. He is currently President of CM Inc. In his over twenty five years of forming and growing the company, CM Inc. is now one of the leading ITC organizations which provides dynamic, state of the art, innovative, socially beneficial, and internationally competitive products and services.

As a member of the Premier's Council for an Ontario Information Infrastructure (COII), Hasan Naqvi provided advice to the Government on direction and priorities for strategic initiatives and on the use of Information Technology and telecommunications in general. As a member of the Board of Governors of the Information Technology Association of Canada (ITAC), Hasan plays a key role in setting the IT directions of technology firms in Ontario and the rest of Canada.

Satish Verma | President, Think & Grow Rich Institute

Satish Verma is a successful Canadian entrepreneur. He is president and CEO of Think and Grow Rich Institute and also the world’s foremost expert on Think and Grow Rich. He made his mark as a businessman after founding one of the largest supplemental education enterprises in Canada.
