A trauma-informed treatment formulation emerges from a diagnostic and clinical formulation and provides the framework for treatment planning in a residential setting. Armed with the answers to the “What happened?” and the “Why did it happen?” questions, the answer to the “What can be done about it and how?” question is the core of the treatment formulation.
