OPWSA Fall Family and Caregiver Conference 2019

Join us for the OPWSA Fall Family and Caregiver Conference 2019!

The Ontario Prader-Willi Syndrome Association (OPWSA) invites you to come out for a great day of learning, information sharing, networking, peer support, and fun! There is also wonderful programming for individuals with PWS of all ages and their siblings. The Fun Friends Program will have many activities including the opportunity to explore the exhibits at the Ontario Science Centre.

The conference will cover topics on:

• Practical Behaviour Solutions for individuals with PWS
• Applying social behaviour education to PWS
• Encouraging Language with your Child with Prader-Willi Syndrome
• How to be an effective advocate for your child and yourself
• Financial strategies and planning considerations for parents of children with PWS
• Current PWS research and trials
• Understanding the system for drug access in Canada

Discussion time with other parents and caregivers has been integrated throughout the day to allow time to reflect on the presentations, and ask questions of our presenters.

There will be a meet and greet social event on Friday evening from 7:00pm-9:00pm at the Hotel Bar. Please note that no volunteer support/Fun Friends Program will be offered during this time.

COST:

Early Bird registration is now closed. All early bird registrants have been entered into a draw to win a $100 gift card for a store of their choice. The draw will take place on Tuesday, September 24th at 12pm.

General Conference Admission - $80
Fun Friends Program (ages 3-12) - $25
Fun Friends Program (ages 13-17) - $30
Fun Friends Program (ages 18 and up) - $35

***Please note that for kids under 6, it is expected that families provide their own volunteer (parent, grandparent, friend, etc.) to look after their child in the Fun Friends Program***

The Toronto Don Valley Hotel and Suites is located a short drive away from the Ontario Science Centre. Rooms include free wifi. There is an extra charge for parking of $13.50 (including tax) per night.
