Description

Do you have what it takes to pull an airplane? Join CASSU (Contemporary Asian Studies Student Union) on the 23rd of May for the Orbis pull-a-plane charity event at Toronto Pearson Airport!

Dedicated to helping restore the vision of visibility impaired and disadvantaged individuals, Orbis is a non-profit organization that runs programs to prevent and treat blinding eye diseases in developing countries. Through its unique Flying Eye Hospital, patients are treated inside an airplane, which boasts a vast assortment of medical facilities. Orbis has provided optical care to over 23 million people since 1982, and continues to help disadvantaged individuals. It is to support this aim that CASSU is participating in this fundraiser event. We believe that anyone, regardless of their background, should have the fundamental pre-requisites for building a bright future, and that includes good optical health.

You as a member of the CAS community have the chance to be a part of this cause too by joining or supporting us in this festive and meaningful event! Get pumped and energetic as thousands will fill Toronto Pearson Airport. Its runway be transformed into a carnival with a wide assortment of cuisines, interactive tours of the Orbis plane, carnivalesque entertainment, and much more! Test your strength and mental ability by joining CASSU in going tug-of-war against the giant metallic bird, or make a monetary contribution towards this important cause. Our goal is to have 20 participants (we already have 5), and to raise $2000 for Orbis.
