Have you been wanting to get your hands dirty and start growing your own food? Not sure where or how to start? Sign up for one or all of this four-part workshop series that will give you the skills and confidence needed to start your own organic vegetable garden.
The first workshop will take place Sunday, April 17th from 10am-1pm. Participants will learn, through hands-on work, how to prepare, plan and plant a vegetable garden.
The second workshop will take place Saturday, June 4th from 10am-1pm. Participants will learn about water management, weed management and growing warm season crops.
The third workshop will take place Saturday, August 27th from 10am-1pm. Participants will learn about harvesting, cover cropping to improve soil fertility, and planting to maximize the length of time food is available in the garden.
The fourth workshop will take place Saturday, October 22nd from 10am-1pm. Participants will learn about preparing their garden for the next season. Participants will also have a chance to learn about saving seeds for next years garden.
All workshops will be outside so come prepared to get dirty and do some work. Bring your curious minds and questions.
We will meet at the Buemann House in Terra Nova Rural Farm Park.
