Orientation for New Faculty 2026: Parts 1 - 4

Please note, all new faculty are expected to attend Orientation within the first 3 years of their appointment.The Orientation for new faculty is an opportunity to welcome new faculty that have joined the University of Toronto’s Department of Psychiatry. It provides an introduction to the academic roles and responsibilities of faculty and provides tips on how begin a successful academic career. It also offers an opportunity for new faculty to meet their fellow colleagues.

It is expected that all new faculty attend Orientation within the first 3 years of their appointment, including Parts 1, 2, and 5, and either Part 3 or 4 depending on their academic role.

Part 5, Workshop on Unconscious Bias, is an online event that takes place on Wednesday, October 21, 12:00 - 2:00 pm. It requires seperate registration - please register here.

ALL faculty are welcome to attend. The Program includes a review of teaching opportunities in postgraduate and undergraduate education, as well as workshops on mentorship, unconscious bias, and starting a career in research, teaching and education scholarship, and quality improvement.
