Event description
A presentation and discussion on planning ahead during the secondary years, to prepare for transition pathways towards adulthood.

About this Event

Parents and teens are invited to join us for a presentation and discussion on planning ahead during the secondary years, to prepare for transition pathways towards adulthood. Three pathway areas will be discussed. Surrey Place's School Support Program team will introduce participants to their 3 Transition Pathways to assist families and individuals in planning for their future (choosing the appropriate path). The session will explore pathways to employment, to adult services and to post-secondary education. In this overview, parents and teens will learn about expectations and effective transition practices and have a general orientation around what is available for teens after high school. During this session, reviewing of applicable resources will also be shared. Whether preparing to enter high school, in the middle of high school, or are preparing to graduate, this information session is for you!

WHO SHOULD ATTEND: Both parents and teens who are getting ready, are midway through or are about to exit secondary education. Grades 8-12. Ages 13-21
