Event description

Description

Make Healthcare Better for Space Missions and Earth!

Astronauts can’t take everything they need with them on long space missions. Unleash your creativity and problem-solving skills to 3D print solutions to potentially save lives, time, and money for astronauts on deep space missions and the 3.75 billion people on Earth who live in rural areas and who often lack access to healthcare services.

Medical Make-A-Thon participants learn how to 3D print, curate, or create life-saving or life-changing solutions for remote or rural settings. All participants receive an e-certificate. The best designs will be 3D printed on 3D4MD’s humanitarian 3D printing system at the Mars Desert Research Station by a Medical Makers crew of analog Martian astronauts.

All ages and backgrounds are welcome to participate. No prior design or 3D printing experience required. Proceeds support Medical Makers humanitarian projects.

If you attend this event, you will:

  • Meet cool people
  • Develop cutting-edge tech skills for job opportunities in the growing 3D printing sector
  • Learn humanitarian design skills from experts
  • Have a meaningful and unique learning experience
  • Give back to the local and global community

You can either register on your own or as a team. Please bring your laptop. You can use 3D modeling and 3D printing freeware at this event. Please bring your own food and drinks.
