Single in Ottawa? Join us for a speed dating event without having to leave your sofa! Virtual events are perfect for those looking for both convenience and simplicity. Unlike our traditional in-person events, you can expect an event that take less than half the time of in-person ones, without sacrificing the amount of people you are meeting. The Isodate platform was designed with dating in mind, making it the perfect virtual date-night spot. If it wasn't for the lack of needing shoes or sitting in traffic, it might feel like you’re at an in-person speed dating event!
Why Online Speed Dating?
Virtual speed dating has its own perks! You set the ambiance, background and lighting. Choose an outfit that’s comfortable and makes you feel confident. Who cares if it’s casual, dressy, or quirky? Speed dating from your own place gives you the opportunity to let your personality shine more than any speed dating event in person! You have the option of being your own bartender (just make sure to tip yourself generously), and you even have the option of bringing in your furry friend for a quick visit!
So… how does online speed dating work?
Here’s how our online dating events work: On the day of the event, you will be provided with a link and passcode to access the event via Isodate's platform. Make sure you are in a quiet environment with good lighting (we all paid good money to see that pretty face and smile, after all). We like to start off our virtual dating events with a warm welcome from one of our event hosts. Once the introduction is complete, grab a drink and get ready because it’s time to meet some singles!
Daters have 8 minutes to chat before rotating to the next virtual date. Following each date, you will be asked if you want to match with that person or not—just simply click "yes” or “no” if you’d like to connect outside of the event. Once you’ve spoken with everyone, that’s it—you're done! Give yourself a cheers or pat on the back, you did a great job! As soon as the event is over, you will receive an email with your matches. You can contact your matches via your Isodate Dashboard.

Our team strives to make each and every speed dating event just as special as the next, with no two events alike. It’s our belief that just because you’re here to meet people, that doesn’t mean you have to sacrifice having a good time. We offer speed dating events in Toronto, Ottawa, Vancouver, & Calgary — and soon to be in other major cities in Canada! So do yourself a favour and attend a dating event with Flare!
About the organizer
In-Person Speed dating
Once everyone is in attendance and settled in, we like to start our speed dating events with a little ice breaker game to warm everyone up. Perhaps a bit of trivia or a game of two truths and a lie? It’s important to us that no two events are alike and our team constantly tries new games and ice-breakers at every event.
After the ice breakers are finished, let’s start the speed dating! You’ll be seated in front of a potential match with 8 minutes to get to know one another. Feel free to talk about whatever you want, but we always recommend you keep it lighthearted and professional (don’t do anything we wouldn’t do). Once time is up, the ladies remain seated and the gents move down a spot and take a seat at the table of their next potential match.
Remember to take time at the start of each date to write down your dater’s name and, at the end, mark off if you felt it was a good match or not. Once you’ve spoken to everyone, that’s it, you’re done—great job! Make sure your scorecard is filled out correctly, hand it back to our host, and leave the rest to us.
However, just because the event is over doesn’t mean your night has to be! Feel free to stay for a drink (or two). Kick back, relax, and maybe chat further with some of the other daters from our speed dating event. Within 48 hours you will hear back from us via email with exciting news about your potential matches from our speed dating event.
Online Speed dating
On the day of the event you will receive a link from us to join the online video chatting platform, just give it a click a few minutes before the event starts to join the event. Before you join, make sure your camera and microphone are working properly, and that you are in a quiet space with stable internet connection and good lighting (we all paid good money to see that pretty face and smile, after all)! While our in-person events start off with an ice breaker activity, our virtual dating events are an express service and experience. Grab a drink (or three), and then off to virtual speed dating you go!
A digital version of our scorecard will be provided allowing you the opportunity to fill out and submit. Just fill in the names of the singles you meet and, after each encounter, give the “yes” or “no” box a check if you’d like to connect outside of the event. Break-out rooms are created and people are assigned to each room. Daters have 8 minutes to chat, after which the gents will switch rooms. Once you’ve spoken with everyone, that’s it—you’re done! Give yourself a cheers or pat on the back, you did a great job! Be sure to hit “submit” on the scorecard and expect to see your results by email within 48 hours.
