Event description

Description

At the time of remembrance of the participation and sacrifice of Canadian soldiers fighting on behalf of Canada in wars overseas, share an evening with two local authors hosted by Ottawa Public Library at Dominion Chalmers Church.

Renowned historian Tim Cook, author of a two-volume definitive account of Canadians in the Second World War, will read from the second volume, Fight to the Finish: Canadians in the Second World War, 1944-1945, and discuss his research on the role of Canadians in WWII. Tim Cook is the winner of the Ottawa 2016 Book Award.

Researcher Jane Cooper, author of Private Sully Goes to War: An Eastern Ontario Boy Writes to His Girl from the Trenches in World War One, reads from her book and discusses the primary source letters and photographs from World War One that make up this book.
