Event description

Description

The Economist called Vancouver “pleasant, but mind-numbingly boring”. History tells us a very different story.

Harry Houdini. Sammy Davis Jr. Billie Holiday. Dal Richards. Louis Armstrong. The Tragically Hip.

These are just a few of the legendary entertainers that have made Vancouverites and visitors laugh, cry, sing and dance through the years, not to mention the local actors and musicians that keep the nightlife swinging.

OUT ON THE TOWN takes you on a 2-hour evening walking tour through the streets of Vancouver. Your tour guide will meet you on Burrard Street, steps from the main Skytrain Station entrance and Vancouver's entertainment district. (Your guide will be waiting in the green space & benches, at the top of the stairs on Burrard Street [on your right if you are facing the station]).

From there, you'll hit the town! You'll visit the historic sites of swanky clubs, vaudeville theatres and bars that hosted legends and entertained generations. The tour finishes on Granville Street, home to past and present nightlife in Vancouver.

Tours run every Friday night, 7-9 PM, beginning June 23, $15 per person. Private tours can be organized for groups of 4 or more at a time and date convenient for you - contact us for availability.

Sorry, no giggle water allowed during the tours (that’s 1920’s slang for alcohol) – but you’re encouraged to enjoy Vancouver’s nightlife after we finish on Granville Street!

Each tour covers approximately 1.75 KM of city blocks, with some steep inclines at times. Most sidewalks are wheelchair accessible.
