Event description
This training is an opportunity to become informed about opioids and how to prevent an overdose.

About this event

This training is only available to Lethbridge College employees and students. When registering please use your Lethbridge College email.

Wellness Services is providing an Overdose Response and Naloxone training, which is a harm reduction initiative put forth by Alberta Health Services in hopes of decreasing the incidences of death by opioid overdose. This training will provide you with an overview of opioids to better understand these drugs and what they do, the skills to detect an overdose, and how to respond in this emergency. You will have a chance to practice the skills covered and will be provided with a Naloxone kit to take home. Please note, this is not a CPR training.

All training sessions are in person, with a maximum of 12 participants per session, so be sure to register in advance. Dates and times of this training are below:

October 28 from 10:00-11:00 in room AN 1733

November 26 from 11:00-12:00 in room TE 1202

January 18 from 9:00-10:00 in room TE 1202

March 8 from 1:00-2:00 in room TE 1202

Organizer Lethbridge College

Organizer of Overdose Response and Naloxone Training

There are more than 30,000 alumni of Lethbridge College living and working all over the world, and the Office of Alumni Relations works hard to engage alumni and current students as they transition into alumni. With approximately 650 students graduating from Lethbridge College per year, we predict that our alumni base will reach 40,000 within 10 years. Our graduates can be found around the globe, however the largest concentration of alumni are living right here in Lethbridge.
