Event description

Description

Gain a deeper understanding of the challenges and strengths of people living in poverty. The Bridges out of Poverty community support program provides a family of concepts, workshops, and products to help employers, community organizations, social service agencies, and local residents address and reduce poverty in a comprehensive way. The program helps communities:

  • Move individuals from poverty to self-sufficiency
  • Reduce social costs related to crime, poor health, and welfare
  • Strengthen educational attainment and job skills
  • Enhance economic development
  • Improve on-the-job productivity
  • Revitalize neighbourhoods
  • Build sustainable communities

The foundational components of the Bridges Out of Poverty program will help pave the way for Oxford County to implement the next phase, which is the Getting Ahead curriculum. This workshop is open to all residents and agency providers.
