Event description

Description

The first in our ongoing series of "Success in Oxford" events for 2018.

Your ticket includes breakfast, tea/coffee/juice and our guest speaker.

Join the Oxford Young Professionals group as we welcome guest speaker, Adam Funnell-the owner of The Co-operators- Funnell Insurance Group. Adam is involved in many groups and organizations in the community. Along with being Past President of the Rotary Club of Ingersoll, Adam is the Vice President of PlayRight, a non-profit corporation partnered with the Town of Ingersoll to upgrade local playground structures. Adam is a former director of the Alexandra Hospital, Secretary of the Woodstock Volleyball Club and was listed as one of Oxford County's "Top 20 under 40" in 2012. The Town of Ingersoll recognized Adam as their Citizen of the Year in 2014, the first person under 40 to ever be given the honour. Adam has also been recognized several times for top sales including the 2010 Top Growth Award.

Adam will also speak a little bit about what makes a co-operative business model different and how this allows them to balance profits with the needs of community.

Good to know!

Not suprisingly, The Co-operators is build on a co-operative business model. Many people hear the term "co-op" without realyl knowing what this means. Business decisions are guided by co-operative principles, so the need for profitability is balanced with the needs our members (customer) and their communities. Making people a priority and taking a long-term view of business decisions makes The Co-operators fundamentally different from most insurance companies.
