Event Details

This exciting course is designed to facilitate the review of physiotherapy involvement with the cardiorespiratory patient population.  The course is meant to be a review of evidence within this patient population that spans acute to out-patients.  Pre-reading material will be given prior to the course to engage the therapists in evidence based practice discussions and help foster answers to common questions encountered in daily practice.  Time will be spent reviewing material in lecture format, case based discussions and hands on practical session(s).  The instructor encourages participants to bring forward any practical questions or concerns encountered during daily practice that can potentially be addressed.

This is a 2-day course that runs from 8:30am-4:30pm each day.

Course Objectives

  • Gain exposure to and develop further understanding of the different aspects of cardiorespiratory patient assessments, including a review of anatomy and physiology
  • Understand management options for patients with cardiorespiratory dysfunction, including medical, surgical and exercise based patient populations.
  •  Understand the integration of outcome measures in the assessment and treatment of the cardiorespiratory patient populations, including lab values and chest radiology.

Format: In- person
